Chanshal Valley, One of The Best Sunset Spots in Himachal

The chanshal pass or chanshal valley, links dodra kwar and rohru (chirgaon) in shimla district in himachal Pradesh. It is the gateway to Dodrakwar, Height of peak is 4520metres, the highest peak in the shimla district. Chanshal Valley remain open from april to October, rest of the year covered with snow. If you look for a road less travelled, then you choose chanshal peak to visit and see good views of Himalayas.  You can Experience bewitching spell of the pabbar valley rohru. The chanshal pass is one of the best sunset spots in himachal Pradesh.

There are 2 guest houses to stay, “The chanshal” by HPTDC and “chanshal pass” There are no shops for refreshments from Rohru till the Valley.

Chanshal pass is a 181 kms from Shimla and from Narkanda is about 110 kms by road.

Delhi to chanshal distance is about 500 kms.

Distance from Chandigarh 270 kms

How many routes connect with shimla to chanshal valley?

There are two routes connect with shimla to chanshal valley.

  1. Delhi-chandigarh-shimla-theog-kotkhai –kharapathar-hatkoti-rohru- larot-chanshal valley. 500kms
  2. Delhi-chandigarh-shimla-theog-narkanda-tikker-rohru-larot-chanshal valley.525kms

The condition of road on the first route well constructed. Second route was terrible and hence is not suitable for the bike ride.

What is the Road condition of shimla to chansal valley?

The valley is one of the best places for bike ride. Roads are steep and tough to drive. You can also go with Gypsy and Thar. Rent a bike, Gypsy, Thaar from Shivay rental shimla to chanshal. You can park your vehicles on the road and trek to the top of hill.

Best time to visit chanshal valley

Chanshal valley remains open from april to October. And want to enjoy snow time then go in winters, November to February.

Valley affords good the scenic beauty of Himalaya. The Valley is very peaceful and famous for its scenic beauty. You can also visit Chanshal Lake which is around 8 kms away from Chanshal top by Trek.  

A trip is highly recommended to those having a keen interest in off-roading and photographing offbeat landscapes.
